Senior Claims Specialist - Based in MexicoUnder limited direction, manage a claims portfolio in Mexico and sometimes regionally in Latin America. Responsible for conducting investigations into a wide variety of product line claims with the ultimate goal of arranging expeditious and economical settlements within prescribed authority levels. Has distinct accountability for business results for assigned product(s) or country and has administrative accountability for lower level claims staff.Job ResponsibilitiesProvides Claims management by meeting with Brokers, Risk Managers and Reinsurers to both implement and maintain claim management programs.Manage activities and follow up Notes in the Liberty Claim System.Establishes adequate reserves for both indemnity and expense and reviews reserves on a regular basis to ensure adequacy.Provides feedback to external lawyers with respect to coverage, investigation and ultimate settlement, including, but not limited to direct participation in mediation and arbitration and active participation in settlement discussions.Actively pursues all avenues of recovery including, but not limited to timely recovery of deductibles from Insureds and manages subrogation activities.Provides regular reports to the VP or Country Manager on losses either exceeding or likely to exceed the authority level or as prescribed by regulations within the Claim manual.Conducts claims audits or peer-to-peer reviews.Manage the overall quality of the performance of Third Party Administrators, Attorneys and external vendors.Implement, maintain and monitor departmental standards and procedures.Involved with new product development.Provides training to new members of the team and acts as a technical resource to Product Line Staff, as well as other divisions. Responsible for performance, development and coaching of staff (i.E. hiring, terminating, performance and salary increases).Preparation, Training and ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent training.7 years of relevant experience within technical specialty and progressively more responsible work experience required including at least 2 years of supervisory experience.Requires advanced knowledge of claims handling concepts, practices, procedures and techniques, including, but not limited to coverage issues, especially in Third Party Lines (General Liability and Financial Lines).Skills on common computer software, especially for presentations and loss calculations.Knowledge of law and insurance regulations in Mexico.Networking skills, the ability to effectively interact with brokers and internal departments and product competition within the marketplace is also required.Strong verbal and written communications and organizational skills.Strong negotiation, analytical and decision-making skills are also required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
