**Sr. Commodity Buyer**
Responsible for analysis of raw material requisitions, examination of supplier quote proposals, enhanced supplier negotiations, purchase order approvals / placement and negotiating both short-term and long-term transactions with the designated supply base. Additional responsibilities include the creation and cultivation of strategic synergies for North American Procurement. Sr. Commodity Buyer must also demonstrate business acumen needed in the disbursement of key departmental information with all necessary members of operations, sales/ marketing and engineering departments.
**Responsibilities/Skills**:
- Coach, Lead, Manage and Develop Commodity Buyer and Purchasing Analyst Coordinator thru strategic leadership.
- Identify and implement cost savings initiatives.
- Negotiate Blanket Purchase Orders and Supply Agreements including: Payment Terms, Pricing and Logistics.
- Manage commercial aspects of Supply Chain shortages, Spot Buys, Lead Times, etc.
- Participate in commercial aspects of Supplier / AEES Inc. quality issues.
- Develop and validate supplier spend data.
- Lead the maintenance and updating of supplier part attributes such as: Lead Time, Standard Pack, MOQ, Cost, etc.
- Work with Finance and treasury in mitigating credit issues with suppliers.
- Establish negotiations for improvements in: terms, lead time, etc. within the assigned commodity deck.
**Required Profile**:
**Education and Experience**:
- College Degree on International Business, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or similar.
- Minimum 8 years' experience as Commodity Buyer, on corporate purchasing of productive material with international suppliers.
- English and Spanish - 100% fluent.
- 6+years of experience on the Automotive Industry.
- 6+ years of experience on Materials & Supply Chain processes ( **_Preferred _**)
**Skills/Knowledge Required**:
- Proven track record of cost reduction.
- ERP systems knowledge ( **_PLEX - Preferred _**)
- Ability to conduct financial analysis such as piece price, standard cost and Purchase Price Variance.
- Computer knowledge of Office packages.
- Negotiation with suppliers; Cost reduction oriented; Quick reaction to problems.
**Technical/Business Knowledge**:
- Knowledge of purchasing techniques, policies and procedures, for productive (direct) material.
- Strong negotiating skills and business acumen.
- Drive to accomplish results.
- Working knowledge of **PLEX is a plus **.
