The Controls Engineer develops, plans, and implements projects involving control systems at various manufacturing sites and supplier facilities supporting Gates" growth and continuous improvement activities. This position will be based from the Atlacomulco or Toluca facility with travel to various Gates facilities.
**Key responsibilities (to name a few)**:
- Designs, develops, and supervises all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Provides installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.
- Prepares and presents capital project proposals for Gates" manufacturing plants in Gates Globaly.
- Develops Statements of Work (SOW); prepares bid packages for quote; reviews and provides the recommended sourcing decision.
- Recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Supplier visits for project updates and equipment run-offs.
- Maintain electrical control standards to ensure the latest of technologies are being employed.
- Training and support of the plant engineering staff.
**REQUIRED SKILLS**:
- Excellent project management skills, including execution and follow up assessment
- Results oriented, seeks creative solutions to business problems
- Proficient project management and engineering related skills including but not limited to:
Desktop Publishing
Project Management Programs (Microsoft Project)
Auto Desk AutoCAD 2D Electrical experience
Electrical control panel design
Wonderware HMI programming
Robotics and vision system integration knowledge
- Time Management/Resource Planning
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must be capable of presenting project information in front of all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills
- Strong team player, proactively able to step in to support other team members as needed and share knowledge to allow cross training of all functions, builds collaborative relationships
- Takes action, anticipates the needs of internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high pressure situations manages conflict and prioritizes workloads.
- Self-directed and motivated with a willingness to travel 60 to 70% to the various Gates manufacturing facilities

- Saving Incentive: 13% of the base salary paid in monthly basis.
