Job Description Design electrical drawings, ladder logic, HMI programs and integrate Safety PLC control systems for machinery and automation.Thorough understanding of safety in a manufacturing environment and how it applies to controls design.Work with equipment suppliers and ensure compliance with AAM equipment specifications.Knowledgeable in mechanical systems.Working knowledge of fluid power systems.Understanding of robot integration and programming.Ability to work with equipment design team and provide recommendations on equipment design and integration.Advanced troubleshooting skills.Work on multiple projects with general direction and minimal guidance.Ability to work with contractors and oversee the electrical installation portion of equipment.Work effectively on a team and in individual situations.Support plant maintenance and controls teams.Capable of working with and training entry level controls engineers and students.Work experience in Allen Bradley PLC, ControlLogix, Servo Controllers, HMI products and software.Understanding of NFPA & OSHA regulations.Required Skills and Education Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or related field from accredited college/university or Trade School7+ years' experience in controls engineering position.About AAM: As a leading global Tier 1 Automotive and Mobility Supplier, AAM designs, engineers and manufactures Driveline and Metal Forming technologies to support electric, hybrid and internal combustion vehicles.
