The Sr Cost Specialist is responsible for providing relevant cost information to the organization, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the achievement of goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Presents monthly financial reports and related analyses. Completes the financial planning process. Creates and reviews financial models. Assists analysts with highly complex research and analyses. Works directly on and enhances complex research and analysis projects.
- Manages departmental expenses and capital budget tracking, reporting, concluding monthly and quarterly expenses and costs. Reviews the monthly close and provides reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Performs analysis and reconciliation of key Balance Sheet or P&L accounts in support of the monthly financial close.
- Actively participates in the monthly and annual cost accounting close control.
- Conducts all types of analyses and account integration.
- Related journal entries, account reconciliations, system reports, and analysis documentation.
- Develops, maintains, executes, and oversees procedures and work processes related to their responsibilities.
- Prepares all types of cost reports and metrics, such as scrap/waste expenses, dashboards, reports for business units, etc.
- Consolidates the budget versus actual report and the cost of sales.
- Participates in budgeting processes by developing strategic and operational objectives for the segment aligned with corporate and group strategic goals.
- Develops standard cost sheets.
- Responsible for the cycle counting program/audits of physical inventory.
- Actively participates in special projects.
- Provides support to various departments and plants
- Develops and maintains procedures and work processes related to assigned tasks, including internal controls of Sarbanes & Oxley.
- Responsible for communicating business-related matters or opportunities to the next managerial level.
- For those supervising or managing personnel, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety, and Environment practices, and that all necessary resources to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in cost accounting and plant operations in the maquiladora industry.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to reason and exercise judgment.
- Good understanding of production/materials systems.
- Ability to collaborate with other departments.
- Skills to manage multiple priorities.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish (70% proficiency).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI.
- Experience with JDE Oracle and SAP preferred.
