OverviewThe Senior Engineer - Manufacturing will utilize their skills to improve our manufacturing processes.
You will be responsible for leading cross-departmental and organizational teams to complete NPD projects, development, sustaining, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes assigned, engineering safety improvements, and utilizing new technologies.ResponsibilitiesSafety engineering, safety investigations, accident investigations, and safety enforcement.Improve process equipment performance with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.Design and develop new electro-mechanical equipment and technologies to increase operational efficiencies.Implement new systems requiring lean & continuous improvement techniques applied to the manufacturing operations.Conduct PFMEA, Validation Plans, Safety risk analysis, KAIZEN Blitz, and similar activities.Install, enhance, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.Identify and troubleshoot existing electro-mechanical equipment such as extruders.Liaise with our strategic business units on implementing new products.Proactively identify areas of opportunity, create strategic plans, and work to improve them.Train manufacturing personnel such as operators, technicians, and supervisors.Work closely with the maintenance department to improve machine reliability and reduce downtime.Travel internationally, attend training sessions, conferences, and trade shows.QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:B.S.
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering.8+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer and/or Mechatronics Engineer in plastic areas.Experience handling different types of projects.Ability to interpret, modify, and develop Mechanical, Electrical, and Pneumatic drawings.Strong understanding of quality assurance, general statistics, Lean Six Sigma, data analysis, and process improvement techniques.Proven track record of leading cross-departmental teams utilizing strong project management skills.Self-starter with the flexibility to work in multiple roles in a team environment.Ability to work with production employees and must have a 'hands-on' approach to problem-solving.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience in plastic manufacturing environment and coiling equipment (Extrusion is a plus).Preventive and Corrective Maintenance routines.Proven track record in manufacturing process troubleshooting and improvement.Familiarity with quality assurance procedures and general statistics.Strong English verbal and written communication skills.Self-starter with the flexibility to work in multiple roles in a team environment.Proficiency with AutoCAD, Solid Works, or other CAD tools.#J-18808-Ljbffr
