Your Purpose At Bitso, the Senior Java Software Engineer at Mercury's Team takes ownership of critical technical decisions, collaborating with the team to implement enhancements and ensure the highest quality in our systems. You will play a pivotal role in defining and delivering cutting-edge technical solutions, guiding and mentoring other engineers, and setting the technical direction and architecture of our applications. Your ongoing responsibilities include maintaining and continuously improving these solutions, ensuring they meet the demands of our growing user base. Reports To This Role will be reporting to the Mercury Engineering Manager. Who You Are You are a professional with excellent verbal and written language communication skills (English language proficiency required) You are experienced in Java development, with a proven track record of designing, developing, and maintaining robust Java applications. You have deep technical expertise in core Java concepts, including multithreading, concurrency and optimization of the runtime. You excel in designing scalable and high-performance architectures, with a focus on microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native solutions. You are a collaborative leader, with experience leading engineering teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving best practices in software development. You are committed to continuous improvement, staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in Java and related technologies. You are expected to work independently with a proactive, "get it done" attitude. We expected solid knowledge of Object-Oriented and Functional Programming: Strong design skills in Java and Spring, with a focus on API design, implementation, and testing. Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment: Experience with tools like Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, and Spinnaker, ensuring seamless build and deployment pipelines. Software Architecture and System Design: Ability to architect scalable and efficient systems, with a deep understanding of software design principles.
