About the Opportunity Senior Learning experience designers (LXDs) autonomously lead the development of high quality, innovative, and effective training programs that equip learners with resources and activities necessary to successfully meet learning objectives. Senior LXDs effectively lead other LXDs instructional designers (IDs) and other content developers on the team, to collaborate with stakeholders, determine learner needs, and recommend appropriate learning strategies, while leveraging knowledge of instructional design, higher ed, and Ellucian learning technologies. The senior role is further set apart by the ability of the LXD to mentor and lead other LXDs on the team.
Where You Will Make an Impact Lead the vision and guide the direction of Ellucian product training programs and curriculaCreate a training vision for stakeholders and transform that vision into engaging instructional strategies and assets, ensuring alignment with the overall training program visionRecommend appropriate modes of training delivery, including but not limited to, elearning, instructor-led, and blended trainingApply instructional design theories and best practices to training development and maintenance of training programs, while also guiding IDs and other LXDs to achieve consistent, excellent resultsLead the design of engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer, while enabling other LXDs and IDs across the team to do the sameProject manage, plan, and organize product training programs and curricula, and attend team leadership meetings to report statuses and progress, while helping to strategize on project planning, development and deliveryCreate timelines, monitor milestones and deliverables, and address risks and roadblocks while working across the team to manage risks and remove roadblocksManage ID workload across multiple projects while providing direction, feedback, and quality assurance as they carry out the development of training deliverablesAdhere to and provide input on documented instructional design standards and processes to ensure quality and consistencyAssess existing learning resources and program curricula to ensure quality and accuracy of training content and to identify gaps in the curriculumDetermine criteria to assess learner performance.What You Will Bring Demonstrate proven success in interpreting and applying current and emerging adult learning theories and project management strategies to the management of training programs and curriculaComfortably lead training programs in a deadline-oriented work environment, manage and execute complex projects simultaneously, with a high degree of quality, while supporting other LXDs and IDs to do the sameDemonstrate expert collaboration skills and proven success in working on cross-departmental teamsLead the development of training that deals with technical content and subject matter while enabling others to understand itLead the design and development training in a variety of modalities, such as on-demand (elearning), instructor-led, and blended experiences while consulting with other LXDs and IDs on the team to guide their choices in design and modalityDemonstrate proven success in working on global teams across a variety of geographic locations and culturesSummarize technical information (verbally and in writing) for a non-technical audience while mentoring others on the team to develop the same skillsWork proficiently and lead the development of LXDs and IDs on content authoring tools such as Articulate 360 suite, Adobe Captivate, video editing tools, text-to-speech technologies, etc.Demonstrate high proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsDemonstrate strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skillsDemonstrate proven success in leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving
