About the Opportunity Senior Learning experience designers (LXDs) autonomously lead the development of high quality, innovative, and effective training programs that equip learners with resources and activities necessary to successfully meet learning objectives. Senior LXDs effectively lead other LXDs instructional designers (IDs) and other content developers on the team, to collaborate with stakeholders, determine learner needs, and recommend appropriate learning strategies, while leveraging knowledge of instructional design, higher ed, and Ellucian learning technologies. The senior role is further set apart by the ability of the LXD to mentor and lead other LXDs on the team.
Where You Will Make an Impact Lead the vision and guide the direction of Ellucian product training programs and curricula.Create a training vision for stakeholders and transform that vision into engaging instructional strategies and assets, ensuring alignment with the overall training program vision.Recommend appropriate modes of training delivery, including but not limited to, elearning, instructor-led, and blended training.Apply instructional design theories and best practices to training the development and maintenance of training programs, while also guiding IDs and other LXDs to achieve consistent, excellent results.Lead the design of engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer, while enabling other LXDs and IDs across the team to do the same.Project manage, plan, and organize product training programs and curricula, and attend team leadership meetings to report statuses and progress, while helping to strategize on project planning, development and delivery.Create timelines, monitor milestones and deliverables, and address risks and roadblocks while working across the team to manage risks and remove roadblocks.Manage ID workload across multiple projects while providing direction, feedback, and quality assurance as they carry out the development of training deliverables.Adhere to and provide input on documented instructional design standards and processes to ensure quality and consistency.Assess existing learning resources and program curricula to ensure quality and accuracy of training content and to identify gaps in the curriculum.Determine criteria to assess learner performance.What You Will Bring Demonstrate proven success in interpreting and applying current and emerging adult learning theories and project management strategies to the management of training programs and curricula.Comfortably lead training programs in a deadline-oriented work environment, manage and execute complex projects simultaneously, with a high degree of quality, while supporting other LXDs and IDs to do the same.Demonstrate expert collaboration skills and proven success in working on cross-departmental teams.Lead the development of training that deals with technical content and subject matter while enabling others to understand it.Lead the design and development training in a variety of modalities, such as on-demand (elearning), instructor-led, and blended experiences while consulting with other LXDs and IDs on the team to guide their choices in design and modality.Demonstrate proven success in working on global teams across a variety of geographic locations and cultures.Summarize technical information (verbally and in writing) for a non-technical audience while mentoring others on the team to develop the same skills.Work proficiently and lead the development of LXDs and IDs on content authoring tools such as Articulate 360 suite, Adobe Captivate, video editing tools, text-to-speech technologies, etc.Demonstrate high proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills.Demonstrate proven success in leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
