Job description
The Sr Manufacturing Eng Manager will lead and oversee engineering activities related to manufacturing processes, with a focus on implementing advanced technologies and innovative practices to drive operational efficiency and manufacturing excellence. This role requires deep knowledge in factory of the future, lighthouse standards, labor cost optimization, project management skills, and strong capabilities in capital planning and budgeting.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Process Engineering Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of strategies to enhance manufacturing processes, leveraging advanced technologies and innovative practices to optimize efficiency and product quality.
2. Adoption of Factory of the Future and Lighthouse: Drive the transformation towards the factory of the future, leading the adoption and integration of digital technologies, automation, robotics, IoT, and data analytics to improve productivity and competitiveness.
3. Labor Cost Management: Identify opportunities to reduce labor costs through automation, process improvement, and workforce optimization, without compromising work quality and safety.
4. Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee manufacturing engineering projects, ensuring the achievement of established objectives, timelines, and budgets.
5. Capital Planning and Budgeting: Develop and manage the manufacturing engineering budget, identifying investment needs in equipment, technology, and human resources to enhance production capacity and efficiency.
6. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as operations, quality, maintenance, and procurement to ensure alignment and collaboration on key initiatives and projects.
7. Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing engineering team, implementing best practices and methodologies to optimize processes and achieve operational excellence.
8. Talent Development: Mentor and develop engineering talent within the team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring the team is equipped with the skills and capabilities needed for success.
9. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards in all engineering activities and initiatives, prioritizing employee safety and well-being.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering leadership roles, with a focus on process optimization and technology integration.
- Strong understanding of factory of the future concepts, lighthouse technologies, and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage labor costs and drive efficiency improvements in manufacturing operations.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Solid understanding of capital planning, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
