**THE POSITION**:
- Reporting organizationally to the Executive Director Safety & Security in México and the Director Medical Administration in Miami.
The Senior Medical Manager - Mexico will be a key member of the FIFA26 Medical and Security teams, and work in close collaboration with the FIFA World Cup 26 Tournament Medical Lead and other key individuals responsible for defining a clear process by which participating teams can access priority care of highest international standards and other key participant groups (VIP Guests, Workforce) can access non-emergency specialist care and primary/family care as defined in the FIFA Medical Handbook and defined in the operational plan.
- The main responsibilities and oversights of the Senior Medical Services Manager - Mexico for the FIFA World Cup 26 include:
- The Senior Medical Services Manager - Mexico is responsible for the management and provision of medical services to participating teams, VIP Guests and Workforce during their stay in Mexico at the FIFA World Cup 26 according to the FIFA Medical Handbook and operational plan under supervision by the Director, Medical Administration and FIFA Tournament Medical Lead and in close collaboration with the FIFA Venue Medical Officers (VMOs) Mexico.
- The Senior Medical Services Manager - Mexico ensures the required availability of medical staff, transports (ambulances, air rescue etc.
), access to emergency wards etc.
), and other medical services as well as the training of the health care professionals at stadiums, Team Base Camps and Team Hotels.
- Financial planning/budgeting of all services to teams based on scope according to the FIFA Medical Handbook requirements, risk assessments and estimation of need.
Continuous monitoring of procurement costs and ensuring service delivery stays within the budget.
- Support of the FIFA Venue Medical Officers (VMOs) - Mexico in all administrative and operational matters.
- The Senior Medical Services Manager - Mexico collaborates closely with the Senior Medical Services Managers Canada and United States of America.
- Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Implementation of the standards described in the FIFA Medical Handbook as per the operational plan, with a focus on participating teams and referees, VIP Guests and Workforce in Mexico:
- Plans and organises the 24/7 emergency medical cover for players and team officials, VIP Guests and Workforce at all venues (Team Base Camps; and Team Hotels) in Mexico in collaboration with Host City Medical Leads
- Plans and organises the ambulance cover of all official training sessions
- Oversees the designation of suitable hospitals and providers by FIFA VMOs and monitors that specialized sports radiology, concussion and cardiology services are available for PMA teams at all Host Cities and Team Base Camp locations.
- Communicates with designated hospitals and providers selected by the FIFA VMOs and secures the implementation of elite athlete pathways for teams and VIP pathways for VIP Guests and Workforce by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding or other agreements as indicated
- Organizes the full range of stadium medical services to teams to ensure that the appointed medical and healthcare staff, medical equipment, logistics, communication and patient evacuation routes are adequate, appropriate and have been practiced
- Oversees and leads the procurement process for all stadium and other event-related site medical services to participating teams and referees
- Monitors the assignment of player medical centres to the location identified by FIFA26 Medical during stadium visits and ensures implementation of any overlay requirements in the three Mexican stadiums.
- Support the planning, preparation and delivery of the Team Doctor Workshop within the Team Workshop organized by Team Services prior to the main tournament, including provision of information specific to Mexico
