**About the job Senior MySQL Developer**We are looking for a **MySQL Developer** to be responsible for creating configurations in our client's proprietary statement processing tool, which utilizes multiple sequential queries for ingesting, validating, and processing sales and other data from their partners (music stores / streaming sites / etc.).The primary focus for this role will be on the **creation and maintenance of configurations** for one of our client's business lines, requiring close collaboration with our client's team in **London**, as well as our client's internal teams based in **New York** and **Los Angeles**.This person will be responsible for figuring out how to get the mix of data that the partners send in text / xlsx / pdf formats into a usable csv that can be imported into the statement DB, creating the documentation for replicating those steps, then writing all of the queries needed to load, validate and maneuver the data into a clean, normalized table format. From there, standardized code does the rest of the work of fx conversion, matching reported data to the (tracks / releases) or (sound recording / contributor / contribution) tables, and showing the processors any unmatched rejects.**Responsibilities**:- Create new configurations for partners that our client has deals with.- Write detailed documentation for all prep workflows for each new configuration, so that the statement processing team can easily replicate the steps required.- Maintain and make required updates to existing configurations when partners make changes to report formats, or as in-house fixes and improvements are requested.- Daily communication with teams in London and LA to ensure configurations are programmed correctly, taking into account all of the specific rules governing the reporting and allocation of the revenue.**Experience and skills required**:- Creative thinking, logical problem-solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail are all essential.- Extensive experience writing complex MySQL queries.- Experience with very large data sets.- High proficiency with Excel.- Good knowledge of basic accounting principles, including VAT, WHT, and foreign currency exchange rates.- Excellent communication skills across multiple teams in multiple time zones.- ETL proficiency (working with various file encodings / line endings, familiarity with various data extraction tools such as Able2Extract).- Music business knowledge (desirable), familiarity with data web apps like Looker and Snowflake, are big pluses.Training will likely be virtual.
