You'll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.A Day in the LifePosition Description:Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:Provides Global legal support for Medtronic's manufacturing plants, advises SVP and Global Head of Manufacturing and Leadership team.Support Regional legal colleagues on significant issues related to Global Manufacturing and Operations.Provides primary legal support and/or oversight to manufacturing plants in Latin America.Collaborate closely with business and functional colleagues on investigations, risk management, plant operations, EHS issues, contract compliance, supplier issues, and other matters as relevant.Collaborates closely with Regional and Corporate compliance team for compliance training, investigations, and counseling.Provides legal advice, counsel, and service to internal business clients concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges of corporations.Draws up contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate, employment, insurance, mergers, acquisitions, marketing and advertising agencies, research and development, and related matters.Keeps current on legislative issues, statutes, decisions, and ordinances of quasi-judicial bodies.Examines legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits.Acts as an agent of corporation in various transactions.Advises company regarding concerns on risk assessment and anti-trust regulations.Must have admission to practice law.May develop, review, or implement company-wide and/or functionally specific training programs.May also oversee corporate governance matters and its various committees.May work with outside counsel to direct activities.Fluency in English/Spanish is required.Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires mastery of a specialty area and full knowledge of industry practices, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Typically requires a Juris Doctorate with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
