We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for the world's toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, ensuring our food is safe, or helping find cures for cancer.**Location**: Remote - Mexico****What will you do?**- Be part of our team responsible for designing, writing, and delivering software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Thermo Fisher Scientific's services.- Work with a team of software and systems engineers on projects for users responsible for uptime.- Support end-to-end availability and performance of key services.- Build automation to prevent problems recurrence.- Automate a response to all non-exceptional service conditions.- Be part of on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model.**How will you get here?****Education**- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering required.**Experience**- 4+ years of experience writing code and knowledge of networking tools, operating systems, and storage.- Experience with Linux and Unix.- Understanding of AWS or Virtualization technologies.- Understanding of programming languages such as Python and Shell.- Experience with Kubernetes/EKS/terraform/AWS/Akamai preferred.- Experience in participating in MIMs (Major Incident Management).- Experience in logging monitoring solutions such as Datadog or Splunk.- Provide engineering support related to OS troubleshooting.- Create operational automation to assist the team in repeatable tasks.- Support the functionality of AWS environments.- Contribute to reliable operations which include design, analysis, and task completion.- Provide feedback on process improvements.- Experience and knowledge of corporate infrastructure and operations.**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-functional team.- Willingness to improve infrastructure environment.- Customer-focused mindset- Desire to guide other engineers in area of expertise.**Benefits**We offer competitive remuneration, annual incentive plan bonus, healthcare, and a range of employee benefits.
