**The opportunity**:
- Implements solutions for complicated or ambiguous technical problems.
- Uses effective communication skills to articulate problems and solutions to both product stakeholders and the development team.
- Designs, develops, tests, deploys, and supports API based systems focusing on industry best practices with a cloud-first emphasis.
- Implements timely decisions on complicated technical problems.
- Manages individual tasks and timelines with an ability to work without direct supervision.
- Supports legacy systems while the new ones are being built for launch and adoption by the business.
- Seeks continuous quality improvements for supported systems.
- Mentors and coaches teammates.
This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.
**What you need**:
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in multiple tools of the full stack covering frontend frameworks, databases, and deployments.
- Experience with a variety of general programming languages.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development.
- Experience with a variety of database technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Advanced ability to solve complex problems, drawing upon creativity, experience, and multiple sources of information.
- Advanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in straightforward manner.
- **Must Have**: Node.js, C#, React UI development with Typescript,.Net, Relational/NoSQL database, Terraform, AWS (Amazon Web Services) and/or Azure, SQL.
- Nice to have: Angular, Groovy, Python, Shell Scripting.
- Insurance and/or reinsurance industry knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Professional Certifications.
