This data allows our customers to gather performance metrics about network services and servers that they depend on and make informed decisions about how to take action should something go wrong.As a Systems Engineer on the Cloud and Enterprise Agents team you will help the Enterprise Agent team develop the Enterprise Agent in many of its physical and virtual deployment targets.We believe in operations/infrastructure/everything as code which makes our distributed team efficient, functional and very effective.We're looking for talented engineers with a software or operations background, experienced in designing and operating large-scale highly available distributed systems in the cloud. You will be working within an application development team to ensure the reliability and performance of our Enterprise Agent.ResponsibilitiesManagement and addressing of agent code change in service of upgrading library, and OS systemsDriving the management of containers and release versions such as security approvalsDeveloping and running automation and efficiency in the capacity of new upgrades (automation experience not required)Enhancing functionality of network lab services for utilization of other teams and their use casesRequired SkillsGood understanding of Unix/Linux systems, the kernel, system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocolsInfrastructure as Code skills, ideally with Terraform, Puppet and KubernetesAbility to write high quality code in Python, Go, or equivalent languagesAbility to design and implement scalable and well tested solutionsStrong communication and documentation skillsStrong sense of ownership, drive and an obsessive attention to detailPreferred SkillsNetworking engineer experience, such working with and setting up a lab or troubleshooting networkKnowledge of cloud providers, ideally AWSDiversity and InclusionCisco values the perspectives and skills that emerge from employees with diverse backgrounds
