Senior Systems Engineer, Datacenter Cloud Operations [Collaboration & Web Services]The Senior Systems Engineer, Datacenter Cloud Operations [Collaboration & Web Services] is a subject matter expert responsible for modern enterprise collaboration and web services platforms. This hands-on role involves designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining these technologies in a hybrid cloud infrastructure. The engineer will oversee daily technical and administrative tasks, ensuring optimal operational efficiency while collaborating with other teams to troubleshoot issues and guide project planning. They will also help define future strategies, establish standards and procedures, and manage day-to-day operations, including system monitoring, upgrades, patching, and coordinating contractors and service providers.
Responsibilities: This role focuses on collaborating with the global IT Infrastructure team to engineer, plan, install, configure, and manage enterprise communication, collaboration, web services, and hybrid-cloud infrastructure.It involves system upgrades, patching, and day-to-day operations with managed service providers, focusing on monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity management.The engineer works closely with internal IT teams and vendors to achieve project goals and provide ongoing support, including off-hours on-call duties and incident response.As the subject matter expert, the role leads technical strategies for enterprise collaboration and hybrid-cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, and alignment with best practices.Responsibilities include consulting with application analysts and architects during design and operational phases, peer-reviewing technical solutions for alignment with IT standards, and researching trends to optimize IT capabilities.The role also participates in technical design sessions, develops documentation, and prepares project materials such as specifications and test scripts.Additionally, it involves stakeholder and vendor management, ensuring collaboration with internal and external teams to support current and future platforms.Minimum Requirements: 10 years of work experience in the enterprise IT industry encompassing a wide range of skill sets, roles, and industry verticals including large-scale global IT operation, design, implementation, migrations, transformations, deployment rollout including broad experience with driving IT platform architecture/design/administration, service management, and IT governance/control processes.10 years of progressive experience working with 3 or more of the following functional technology areas:Modern Enterprise Collaboration and Web Services platforms and interfaces, including Backend Azure/Office 365 Apps/OneDrive, O365 SharePoint Online, O365 Teams/Teams Sites, O365 Hybrid Exchange Online, O365 Stream, O365 Teams/Voice/CPBX/Conference Room, Azure WebApps, Power BI, PowerApps, IIS, Apache Tomcat, Domain and Certificate Services, SOAP, XML, RESTful, JSON, AvePoint, etc.Hybrid-cloud technologies supporting and maintaining a global hybrid datacenter with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and Enterprise OpenShift.Microsoft Windows hybrid domain infrastructure environment, including Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022, SQL Server, and all forms of Active Directory and DNS services.Hyper-Converged Infrastructure and datacenter virtualization, Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V, Azure Stack.Enterprise database, analytic and reporting platforms – SQL, Azure SQL Services, Azure DataFactory (including SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, ETL, Power BI), Oracle, mySQL, MongoDB, DB2, and Informix.Enterprise hybrid-cloud Data backup, recovery, and SAN storage technologies, Commvault, Cisco MDS SAN and Dell/EMC PowerMax array experience preferred.Enterprise Modern End User Computing platform technologies for virtual desktop, hosted desktop/applications, & application packaging/delivery such as Azure Windows Virtual Desktop & FSLogic, Intune, MAM/MDM platforms.5 years of experience with infrastructure orchestration and automation (Infrastructure-as-Code, Configuration-as-Code) for provisioning and management of on-premises infrastructure, Azure hosted Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service capabilities (Azure) including virtual networks, virtual machines, and data services.5 years of experience with agile IT framework, CI/CD platforms and tools such as Azure DevOps, Pipeline, Git, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.5 years of experience in scripting and automating Infrastructure and cloud platforms using scripting languages, tools, and management of script libraries such as Azure PowerShell, PowerShell, Azure ARM, Python, Bash, Ansible Tower, Terraform Cloud, Broadcom (CA) Automic.5 years of experience in advanced level knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, routers, load balancers and XML gateway devices, including IPv4, IPv6, SFTP, SSH, PKI, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS, etc.Education requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred, or a 10+ years combination of equivalent education and relevant experience.Combination of Certifications in various Enterprise Collaboration, Web Service and Datacenter Technologies (e.g., O365 SharePoint Online, O365 Exchange Online, O365 Teams, Azure Web Apps, PowerApps, IIS, Apache Tomcat, Virtualization, SAN storage, Data protection, Microsoft, Infrastructure Security, Various Operating Systems & database platforms, etc.).ITIL Certification and experience preferred.Skills: Communication, Action Orientation, Technical Expertise, Results Focused, Innovation.
