Senior Vice President – Head of Closed Ended Fund Accounting CORPORATE GRADE Senior Vice President LOCATION Mexico City, Mexico
The Role The role will involve overseeing all closed ended teams involved in fund accounting operations based in the Mexico City office. You will also work with the appointed relationship managers and operation heads within the US. Your team will provide fund accounting services for clients contracted to various Apex offices across North America for closed ended funds.
You will have experience in either fund administration or have worked within the public accounting space, specifically within financial services. Experience in private equity is a plus. You will have a proven knowledge of the fund industry and should have demonstrated experience in leading teams successfully. Experience working on Efront, Allvue, and/or Investran would also be highly beneficial for this position.
Responsibilities: You will be responsible for the oversight of fund administrator managers and their assigned clients.Deal with a wide variety of funds (Private equity and PE Fund of Funds).Deal with complex P&L allocations across entities within an overall structure.Assist teams with various types of waterfall calculations.Ensure all teams are following the mandated operational procedures and checklists.Work with managers on developing/motivating individuals and teams.Ensure effective task allocation and delegation across your teams.Ensure a culture of continuous improvement.Manage team capacity to support new business.Act as a point of escalation for client questions and or issues.Ensure effective communication with colleagues and corresponding departments.Participate in new business pitches and resource estimation for its servicing.Involvement in various project and product offering development.Qualifications, Skills and Experience: University degree preferred - accounting, finance, business or economics (or overseas equivalent).Professional accounting designation preferred (CPA, CMA, CA, ACCA etc.).10+ years' experience in a similar role with at least 5 years' experience within the Fund industry/Financial Services.Strong industry knowledge with proven management experience.An ability to work to and meet agreed deadlines.Highly organized and motivated individual with an acute attention to detail.Knowledge of IFRS and GAAP as applicable to Funds.Familiarity with the PE accounting system is a major plus (Efront, Allvue and/or Investran).Knowledge & understanding of securities and other financial instruments.Computer proficiency with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel etc.).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.An ability to think critically and objectively.Have the drive to work toward continuous improvement.The flexibility and willingness to work additional hours if required.What you will get in return: A genuinely unique opportunity to be part of an expanding large global business.Exposure to all aspects of the business, cross-jurisdiction and to working with senior management directly.Oversee the growth of a quickly expanding office.About Apex The Apex Group is a global financial services provider with 13,000 staff across 40+ offices globally.
