The role of Sensory Specialist falls under the department of Global QC, Methods and Analytical Development which supports LQS Operations as well as more than 50 production locations worldwide with QC related expertise in sensory, microbiology, chemistry and process analytical technology.
As a Sensory Specialist your scope is global. Your main focus is to provide sensory expertise within the Supply Chain of FrieslandCampina. You are responsible to ensure that all laboratories and factories are supported to work according to FrieslandCampina approved sensory methods and standards. You also liaise with colleagues and stakeholders at Methods and Analytical Development, factories, corporate and local QA/QC and R&D to ensure good alignment between all parties.
• BSc/MSc degree in food technology, quality or related field of expertise
• Keen interest in sensory analysis and QA/QC
• Hands-on approach in supporting practical implementation of sensory QC analysis at our laboratories and factories
• Experience with training and facilitation of sensory panels is a pre
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch is a must
• Strong all-round communication and influencing skills at different levels of the organization
• A proactive and independent person who likes to work with diverse groups of people
• Friendly, flexible approach targeted to audience
• Flexible to travel both locally and internationally on a regular basis
As a Global Sensory Specialist you are in the lead for supporting the implementation of a QC Sensory program in Supply Chain. You are responsible for the roll-out of compliant sensory methods for product release, monitoring and shelf life at our laboratories and factories.
You provide the tools and methods to ensure that we have competent, screened and trained people doing sensory analysis. You provide training and expertise to staff of different levels and functions, including operators in the factory, QC panelists in the laboratory and team leads. You make sure that the critical-to-quality parameters and defects for each product are understood and measured at the right level. You provide guidance in managing sensory panels and setting up proficiency testing.
You coordinate with local plant, production and quality management to ensure that sensory methods are implemented and maintained correctly. You connect panel leaders globally through digital community building and create a network of QC sensory expertise inside FrieslandCampina and with suppliers.
You support the other Sensory Quality Specialist in the development and standardization of sensory procedures, specifications and methods. You also have a supporting role in liaising with stakeholders at corporate QA, R&D development and specification management to ensure good alignment and transfer of relevant knowledge and information to Supply Chain.
