**AIM OF THE POSITION**: The Sheet Metal Manager ensures the production unit meets production goals, quality, and cost objectives. He/She plans, assigns, and directs work for associates. He/She reviews and prioritizes production schedules and directs operators as required.
**MAIN ACTIVITIES**:
Interprets demand signals (MRP, Requisitions, Kanban cards etc.) and makes financially sound purchasing decisions.
Plans, assigns, and directs work for associates.
May participate in the interviewing and hiring processes
Ensures on the job training is accomplished/completed as required.
Input performance reviews and disciplinary notices to associates as required; addresses employee issues and resolves problems.
Input responsibilities in accordance with the organization's guidelines, procedures, and policies plus applicable laws; exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
Fully aware of skill level of all subordinates and develops training plans to enhance individual skill sets and overall factory flexibility and efficiency.
Implements activities in production unit(s) to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives.
Reviews and prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, efficiency, material supply and personnel resources.
Assigns associates to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements.
Informs assigned associates of production and/or material problems and coordinates with support groups to resolve operational problems affecting schedules.
Participates in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures.
Maintains a variety of reports, records, and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, methods, and other manufacturing aspects.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
Minimum Professional work-related historical documentation required.
5 years of sheet Metal experience, Laser / Turret press brake and punching or have demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks.
**KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES**:
Ability to unfold program and setup routers to produce 2-dimensional sheet metal parts.
Prefer Trumpf equipment experience (TruMatic 1000 Laser/Turret machine).
Prefer Trumpf software (TruTops Boost).
Prefer Trumpf equipment experience (TruBend 5130 Press brake machine).
Has knowledge of hardware insertion machines. Prefer Haeger experience.
Has knowledge of surface finishing machines. Prefer Timesave or SteelMaster experience.
General understanding of blue print reading, GD&T and ANSI Standard 14.5.
Ability to inspect, open plate product.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and inter-personal skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced factory environment.
Ability to deal with a variety of changing situations and to provide expedited delivery support.
