The **Technical Ceramics** business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

**Responsibilities**:
The Financial Controller will carry out accounting, analysis, reporting and control activities for the new manufacturing site in San Juan Del Rio, MX, ensuring finance activities are carried out efficiently and effectively. The Controller is responsible for directing the organization's accounting functions, which include managing the staff and maintaining accounting policies, practices, and procedures.
The person will also be expected to work in accordance with best practice and the Morgan Responsible Business Program, take an active part in delivering a high commitment to Environment, Health and Safety under Morgan's global programs.
The San Juan Del Rio Financial Controller will also work closely with the global finance teams to ensure important coordination on processes, information sharing, receivables collection, supplier payments and other business-critical functions.
**Essential Functions**:
- Responsibility for all operational accounting functions e.g., cost accounting, variance analysis, working capital control etc.
- Coordinating with the central finance teams to ensure legal/statutory compliance and tax efficiency for the San Juan Del Rio Site 3 operation. Work closely with other SJDR finance teams.
- Work with Site Managers to review cost variances and assist in developing mitigation plans.
- Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
- Prepare forecasts and annual budgets. Drive an effective approach to budgeting, forecasting, and reporting which supports the business needs and dovetails with the accountancy process in place and provide an insightful overview of business performance.
- Ensure the business maintains robust internal controls which will ensure compliance with financial regulations and group policies.
- Ensuring the balance sheet is reconciled and controlled effectively (_g._, ensuring appropriate inventory valuation, fixed asset register maintained etc.)
- Preparation of company reporting pack
- Interface with external and internal auditors.
- Liaise and interface with external agencies and Morgan's specialist (tax, insurance)
- Direct external audits of company's accounts.
- Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies as needed
- Participate in annual physical inventory, determine level of participation in quarterly inventory
- Oversee finance record retention and archival / shipment to storage and appropriate catalogue of electronic finance records.

Qualifications:
- Five years plus related experience/training.
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
- Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish / English) required. Ability to speak English at an intermediate or above level required. Ability to clearly present ideas and reports in written and verbal format in English required.
- Experience of ownership of financial reporting and control working for a global multinational company.
- Demonstrable significant experience of operational/manufacturing finance (_g._, standard cost accounting, variance analysis, financial control, etc.).
- Ability to advise on operational and strategic financial matters.
- Highly analytical.
- Prefer knowledge of Microsoft D365, Power BI, Excel.
Read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
- Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Respond to common inquiries from regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Effectively present information to management.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
