.The SMT Engineer **develops, reviews, and optimizes SMT processes to improve productivity and efficiency for new and existing products **. Maintains production line functionality, performance, and process completeness. In addition to the following Essential Functions, other related tasks may be assigned.**Your Role (i.E. Key Job Responsibilities)**:- Stablish strong contact with APTIV's suppliers.- Generate specification of work for the equipment (custom and catalog).- Oversees and assesses existing processes and workflows to release equipment for production.- Optimizes productivity by designing, implementing, testing and debugging new equipment.- Assembles reports to document new process implementation.- Tracks metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades in actual and new equipment.- Communicates findings and proposals to upper management.- Assesses compliance with applicable safety and quality standards**Your Required Background (i.E. Must Haves)**:- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechatronic, Electromechanical or Electronic.- Knowledge in ESD.- Knowledge in SMT equipment. (KnS, Panasonic and Yuki)- Knowledge in terminals insertion equipment.- Knowledge on the Reflow Oven process, troubleshooting and cross section interpretation.- Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical and pneumatical prints.- Skills in oral and written communication.- High sense of responsibility.- Strong written and verbal communication skills- Ability to persuade others to change existing practices- Strong attention to details- Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems- Proficient with computer and information technology**Your Preferred Background (i.E.
