The Process Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving product quality, and driving operational efficiency within our production facility. The Process Engineer will support process development and improvement initiatives in coordination with Quality, Product Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain/Warehouse and Production Staff. This role establishes, documents, maintains, and improves processes. In addition, this critical role monitors and maintains all production equipment, and work within a cross functional team to ensure that processes are effective and efficient resulting in meeting the product requirements specified by the customer and delivering on time.

This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager, Juarez Mexico site.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (ex. Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering) completed required.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Surface Mount Technology Process or related Assembly.
- IPC-A-610, JEDEC, ISO and related standard knowledge preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years electronic engineering experience required, preferably in a contract manufacturing environment and/or EMS industry.
- Proven and demonstrated experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly, with a strong understanding of SMT processes and equipment, and technical background in SMT.
- Proficiency in programming and operating SMT placement machines, soldering equipment, and related tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Certification in SMT assembly or related fields is desirable.
- Equipment knowledge of Panasonic, ASYS/Ersa Printers and BTU Reflow Ovens preferred.
- Excellent profiling skills with experience with ECD, CAM350 and EPM products
- Experienced in Statistical control implementation
- Effective problem solving and organizational skills
- Effective technical communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong interpersonal skills and organization skills with the ability to work within a team environment
- Demonstrate attention to detail and quality.
- Strong understanding and command of English and Spanish languages, preferably bilingual, strongly recommended for success in this position.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in terms of efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and procedures to enhance productivity and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, program management, and supply chain, and warehouse departments to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct process capability studies, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis to identify factors impacting product quality and yield.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and methodologies to streamline workflows and optimize resource utilization.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and control plans.
- Provide technical support and training to production personnel to ensure adherence to established processes and procedures.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in manufacturing processes and equipment.

**ADDITIONAL DUTIES & SPECIFIC TASKS**
- Review, maintain and revise manufacturing work instructions as required in all work centers to ensure clear and precise documentation.
- Conduct Process FMEA, Gage R&R and geometric tolerance studies.
- Work with program management and manufacturing coordinating and implementing activities to support successful new product launches.
- Provide recommendations on new equipment that may be required to support new customers or to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Provide training of operators on new processes and procedures.
- Conduct Process Capability studies.
- Perform studies of work center operations to ensure that process flows maximize efficiencies in product build.
- Develop processes and provide daily support including SMT, Wave Soldering, Hand Soldering, BGA Repair, cleaning, conformal coating, and other processes as they are implemented.
- Develop and implement measurements for equipment to ensure their operation to required specifications.
- Evaluate engineering designs and engineering changes for manufacturability and cost impact. Direct the development of DFx reports.
