**Title**: Social Security Disability ParalegalAs a Social Security Disability Paralegal, you will be a crucial member of our legal team, specializing in social security disability cases. Your role involves providing vital support to attorneys, ensuring seamless case management, and assisting clients throughout the process. Strong organizational skills, knowledge of social security regulations, and compassion for clients facing disability challenges are essential for success in this position.**Responsibilities**:- Review and evaluate intake forms to determine whether the firm will accept a client.- Decide whether to proceed with the case, request additional information, or consult with the Disability Attorney for guidance.- Oversee the completion of representative forms and questionnaires by clients.- Ensure clients complete and submit required forms to the Social Security Administration (SSA).- Coordinate client attendance at SSA-scheduled examinations.- Facilitate appointments with the Disability Attorney for clients near the Paducah office.- Assist clients with telehealth arrangements if needed.- Answer calls from SSA offices and liaise with the Disability Attorney to provide requested information.- Act as a liaison between the firm and SSA, ensuring timely and accurate communication.- Prompt clients to schedule appointments for case review before scheduled hearings.- Order and follow up on the receipt of medical records.- Prepare and submit on-the-record (OTR) briefs when applicable.- Summarize medical records and conduct mock hearings in collaboration with the Disability Attorney.- Monitor case decisions and initiate reconsideration or appeals as needed.- Collaborate with the Disability Attorney on determining the appropriate course of action.**Requirements and skills**:- Bachelor's degree.- Understanding and being able to navigate in different CRMs platforms.- Understanding and being able to navigate Assure, the software program used to submit documents to SSA. (Desirable)- Being proficient with all Microsoft products - Outlook, Excel, Word- Paralegal certification or relevant legal education.- Knowledge of social security disability laws and procedures.
