3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 7+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience with the scrum methodology
The Devices Supply Chain Technology team develops and supports systems and processes that make planning, manufacturing, launching and supporting our devices as efficient and friction-less as possible. We own and build platforms to support everything from Supply Planning, Logistics, Materials Management, Product Lifecycle Management to Device Costing, among others. In this role, you will work closely with senior leaders, stakeholders, software engineers, scientists and product teams across Amazon to drive large cross-org innovations and project delivery activities.
Key job responsibilities
As a software development manager, your responsibilities include:
- Mentoring and developing your team of engineers
- Managing the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment
- Collaborate with multiple business stakeholder, engineering and design teams to coordinate, prioritize and deliver to an ambitious roadmap
About the team
We are a tight nit and efficient team that delivers automation and optimization supply chain solutions for the Devices ((i.e. Amazon Echoes, Kindles, FireTV, Ring, etc) organization. We are specialized in that Amazon Devices develops and owns the product that Amazon is selling on both the Amazon retail site and to external vendors.
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- Experience working with supply chain and/or manufacturing operations systems.
