About the Team HelioScope, by Aurora Solar, is a cloud-based design and engineering platform that lowers cost and increases the accuracy of commercial, industrial, and utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar projects. HelioScope powers our customers through the design and engineering process for tens of thousands of large-scale PV projects around the world every month. HelioScope is one of our fastest-growing products at Aurora.
HelioScope's Utility Pod aims to expand HelioScope's capabilities for designing and simulating utility-scale solar installations. The Utility Pod fosters an encouraging and inclusive environment where open communication and mutual respect are key.
About the Role As a software engineer on the Utility Pod, you will help us improve HelioScope to support larger designs and simulations. You will also help us build product features that enable our utility-scale customers to prospect and model utility solar installations optimally. You will collaborate closely with other engineers via pair programming, and work closely with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Customer Support, and other colleagues to improve the impact of our solutions.
We are seeking engineers to help grow our team by contributing your craftsmanship, stewardship, strong habits, skills, and knowledge to the team and the broader Aurora Solar organization. Your Impact Build new functionality and features for our software platform and industry-leading solar design platform
Build integrations with other players in the solar industry
Assist in the development of new greenfield products and features
Participate in technical design, pair programming, iterative development, and continuous integration of features developed by the team
Take operational responsibility for the services that are owned by our team, including taking part in on-call rotation
What You Bring Passion for renewable energy and sustainability
2+ years of experience as a software engineer
Experience with web development and/or web development frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Python, React, Angular JavaScript/TypeScript
Strong engineering skills and understanding of engineering best practices
Excellent multi-functional teamwork and collaboration skills
Ability to perform and excel in a remote environment at a fast-growing company
