A solutions architect is responsible for creating a comprehensive architecture for a software solution and providing strategic direction throughout the development process.
The responsibilities of a solutions architect involve understanding potentially complex problems and finding all the possible solutions - accurately defining the issue and the requirement.
This person needs to ensure that the new solution fits into the existing enterprise architecture from technical, business, user, and other perspectives.
They cooperate with all the teams involved in the development process and need to know how every product and service works in architecture. An IT solution architect needs all this knowledge to oversee a successful delivery of a quality end product to its end users.
Another responsibility of a solutions architect is to invest researching and understanding new technologies and solutions.
Qualifications — Education and Experience
- A bachelor's or post-graduate degree in IT, computer science, software engineering, or equivalent.
- Knowledgeable about all phases of the software development life cycle and solution delivery for web, client-server, and cloud-based systems
- Interpersonal and customer service skills are required when meeting with and interviewing potential clients.
- Good knowledge of modern software engineering principles and best practices.
- Excellent multitasking skills and task management strategies
- Ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Manage and guide team on complexity IT solutions
- 5+ years on the role or similar
- Fluent English
