The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire.
The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award.
In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.Role DescriptionThis Strategic Sourcing Manager will report to a Sourcing Category Leader(s) and is responsible for executing on category and supplier spend management strategies for third party supplier spend, executing sourcing projects (competitive bids, single-source negotiations, etc.
), and contracting.
This role will be focused on professional services.Role ObjectivesComplete the following activities for material sourcing events, as appropriate:Work with internal stakeholders to define requirementsDesign and execute the competitive processEvaluate competitive offerings from suppliers and develop and present sourcing options that meet SMBC's business requirementsImplement and govern buying channelsPartner and collaborate with:Regional sourcing colleaguesInternal stakeholdersInternal Procurement Operations, Third Party Risk and Contract ManagementIn-house Legal, Risk and Finance teamsMaintain compliance with all policy and procedural guidelinesIdentify new opportunities that address or anticipate client needsPrioritiesAbility to effectively challenge the status quo and "build an alliance" to deliver change.
