The Sourcing Manager is responsible for supporting the organization in meeting its daily responsibilities aligned with its strategic goals.
This role will support the Americas region but is expected to work with other regions especially when it relates to global suppliers to share best practices and standardize global processes where applicable.
Responsabilities:
- Work cross functionaly with planning, materials management, procurement, operations, master data management, engineering and quality groups to improve internal processes related to supplier management, supplier evaluation, developing suppliers OTD capability, managing transfer projects among suppliers and supporting insourcing/outsourcing flex programs.
- Support Vertiv's Strategic Objectives by working to ensure Supplier Performance meets/exceeds needs of internal and/or external Customers.
- Localize suppliers to improve lead time, cost, and agility
- Expand site cost reduction pipelines and lead execution of cost reductions
- Shortage Escalation Point between Purchasing and Commodity Management
- Drive supplier performance Improvement (delivery and quality)
- Partner with Operations teams on Supply Chain Initiatives
- Assist in supply chain performance improvements at supplier level, support technical relationship with suppliers
- Assist in management and facilitation of supplier performance and business reviews.
- Supports Category Managers with data collection and analysis in support of strategic sourcing projects and Category Managers.
- Support dotted line / matrixed Global Indirect Procurement team as it relates to regional execution of global strategies.
- Owns day-to-day assigned procurement activities as it relates to their assigned categories, including but not limited to: Supplier approvals, contract administration, and Supplier administration.
- Lead and supports data analysis for Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to support category and/or negotiation strategies.
- Supports and in some cases leads project management activities for strategic sourcing projects.
- May be asked to lead basic and moderately complex sourcing events.
- Builds relationships with business stakeholders that facilitate the realization of strategic and financial value.
- Help identify process improvements and lead initiatives for change.
Education & Certifications:
- BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related area.
- Prefer a minimum 5 years' experience in supply chain/operations.
- ISM or APICS certification (preferred)
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence preferred (Green Belt, Black Belt, Lean Certified etc.)

- 5+ years of experience in procurement.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
