**Basic Function**:
The purpose of this role is to create value by supporting supplier relationship administration, ensuring procurement governance and sustainability, incorporating key supplier performance management activities, and developing and implementing sourcing strategies. The role supports all clients in the business and functions of responsible category areas, with a focus on supplier relationship management, procurement governance activities, sustainable procurement, and supplier performance management tasks for specific categories.
This position is located in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
**Roles & Responsibilities**:
- Supplier Relationship Management Support Activities:
- Support Procurement Management in activities that help develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
- Assess supplier capabilities through KPI analysis and make recommendations on supplier acceptability.
- Conduct and coordinate supplier evaluations, including reports and follow-up actions.
- Perform and manage vendor audits to ensure alignment with quality and sustainability goals (e.g., Ecovadis/TfS).
- Maintain up to date raw materials risk assessments and follow up with a project management approach to implement mitigation plans defined and executed by Category Managers.
- Maintain an up to date supplier segmentation matrix to categorize suppliers based on risk, performance, and strategic importance.
- Address supplier quality issues along with Category Managers, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Generate periodic reports on quality issues and the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Procurement Governance Support Activities:
- Represent Procurement in internal and third-party audits.
- Ensure an up to date documentation of quality system requirements for the Approved Supplier List (ISO certificates, supplier manual, code of conduct, supplier questionnaire, etc.).
- Manage and process documents for new suppliers and materials introductions, including safety documentation (SDS, TDS, regulatory documents, specification agreements).
- Sustainable Procurement:
- Support the company's sustainability efforts as a key element of the procurement strategy.
- Execute procurement processes that support CO2 emission reduction programs and other sustainability initiatives.
- Sourcing and Category Management:
- Execute the sourcing process for assigned categories with increasing complexity and medium value.
- Understand strategies for assigned categories and proactively drive initiatives to meet sourcing objectives.
- Own sourcing events and contracts for assigned categories.
- Follow up on Product Engineering requirements for new product validation (samples, product documents, plant trials).
**Main Requirements**:
- Work Experience:
- 3+ years of work experience in purchasing, supplier relationship management, procurement governance, sustainable procurement, or supplier quality assurance.
- Experience in the Plastics Industry would be a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in quality systems audits.
- Strong problem solving skills, utilizing various problem solving and quality tools.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to create 7-step sourcing strategies (Kearney method) and Should Cost Models.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, and ARIBA.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
