Responsibilities We are hiring a highly skilled MS SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with prior experience to join our team.
The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of MS SQL databases, with additional knowledge of Oracle and/or Postgres considered advantageous.
As a MS SQL DBA, your primary responsibility will be to manage, maintain, optimize, and secure our SQL database systems.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a site-based position in one of our vibrant office location in Mexico City, Mexico.
Responsibilities Database Administration: Perform installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of SQL database systems.
Performance Tuning: Optimize SQL queries, indexing strategies, and database configurations to resolve performance issues.
Backup and Recovery: Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies for data integrity and minimal downtime during system failures.
Security and Compliance: Enforce database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive data and comply with regulations.
Database Maintenance: Conduct regular tasks like data purging, space management, and system health checks for optimal performance and availability.
Capacity Planning: Monitor database growth trends and plan for future capacity requirements to ensure scalability and efficient resource utilization.
Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Generate reports on performance, availability, and security metrics.
Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and network engineers for seamless integration and optimal database performance.
Qualifications Qualifications Proven experience as an MS SQL Server DBA, including database installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of SQL Server internals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting techniques.
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automating database tasks.
Familiarity with SQL Server high availability technologies, such as clustering and Always-On Availability Groups.
Experience with SQL Server monitoring and diagnostic tools.
Knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
Experience in implementing and performing point-in-time backup and restore operations.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, are a plus.
