Job DescriptionThe Buyer is responsible for the creation and execution of Purchasing Strategies on specific commodities. This includes cost management of products and services through research, quotes, pricing negotiation, and issuance of purchase orders.The Buyer manages all aspects of purchasing parts and services while considering cost-effective solutions. Additionally, they develop budget estimates and forecasts for specific commodities.The role involves selecting qualified suppliers and manufacturers, as well as developing new supply sources for high dollar value, long lead time, critically needed parts, equipment, materials, or services. Maintaining productive relationships with suppliers to obtain the best purchasing prices is crucial.RequirementsAt least 5 years of experience in purchasing.Automotive purchasing experience is desirable.Fluent in English.Education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or similar fields.Excellent negotiation skills.Ability to create commodity strategies and follow them.Ability to analyze costs and challenge cost details.Experience with the creation of cost models is desirable.Good understanding of purchasing processes.Able to work under high pressure and tight timelines.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse personalities.Experience working with global teams and different cultures.Emphasize the importance of meeting commitments.Develop contingency plans to ensure delivery of results.Execute decisions with speed and conviction.Explain how decisions were made.Provide people with the information they need, when they need it.Create a work environment focused on serving customer needs.Execute and communicate difficult decisions despite adversity.Respect and encourage different opinions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
