**Additional Job Description**
The GPS ME Controls Engineer shall provide strong support throughout the different phases of the GM New & Major projects.
These include: Statement of Requirements, Technical Review of Proposals, Design and Build Review, Machine Runoff, Installation at GM Site, Debug and Startup, Ramp-up support.
The Controls Engineer follows the lead of the GPS Manufacturing Engineer.
He/she specializes on Machine Controls & Automation as described in section IV.
Along with the GPS ME, the Controls Engineer is responsible for the timely delivery of the OEM Machinery & Equipment and for ensuring a Flawless Launch.
Also, that the M&E fulfill GM's safety and productivity requirements.
The 7 level Sr. Controls Engineer differentiates from the 6 level Controls Engineer for any or both of the following: a) functional/technical skills, b) leadership and managerial skills.
The 7 level Sr. Controls Lead is usually responsible for one whole GPS manufacturing plant (e.g.
Engine, Transmission, Foundry and Battery).
