**Job Description**:
The GPS ME Controls Engineer provides support and leads the implementation of standard Controls & Automation technologies that allow machines to perform complex manufacturing processes.
How? The technical skills of the Controls Engineer allow him/her to ensure that the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) a) follow GM's specifications to build GM's machinery, b) deliver fully functional equipment on the GM target date to fulfill the manufacturing operations requirements.
Why? If this GM position didn't exist, the OEMs would often deviate from GM's safety, productivity and quality requirements. Also, they could jeopardize the timely start of new manufacturing operations.

Studio5000, Robots Fanuc, Step7, Ethernet IP, HMI Siemens y Rockwell
**Responsibilities**:
The GPS ME Controls Engineer shall provide strong support throughout the different phases of the GM New & Major projects. These include: Statement of Requirements, Technical Review of Proposals, Design and Build Review, Machine Runoff, Installation at GM Site, Debug and Startup, Ramp-up support.
The Controls Engineer follows the lead of the GPS Manufacturing Engineer. He/she specializes on Machine Controls & Automation as described in section IV.
Along with the GPS ME, the Controls Engineer is responsible for the timely delivery of the OEM Machinery & Equipment and for ensuring a Flawless Launch. Also, that the M&E fulfill GM's safety and productivity requirements.
The 7 level Sr. Controls Engineer differentiates from the 6 level Controls Engineer for any or both of the following: a) functional/technical skills, b) leadership and managerial skills. The 7 level Sr. Controls Lead is usually responsible for one whole GPS manufacturing plant (e.g. Engine, Transmission, Foundry and Battery).
