**Summary of Job**
The Sr. Cost Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day activities regarding the proper valuation of all finished goods inventory, the supervision of the production control team and assisting where necessary in the establishment of standards, bill of materials, and investigation of associated variances. The Sr. Cost Accountant will assist in the preparation of the budget and monthly cost estimates. Prepares weekly and monthly management reports and provides analytic support to the Cost Accounting Manager.
**Essential Functions and Responsibilities**
- month end close activities related to cost accounting and inventories including the preparation of journal entries, analysis of cost details and inventory results, and necessary account reconciliations.
- actual vs. plan (budget) and forecast analysis. Prepare various financial analysis reports related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense.
- up new raw material, packaging, WIP, and FG items; create and maintain production BOMs; maintain periodic cost updates.
- actual production costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- a team of people that work on reviewing the paperwork for the completion of the manufacturing orders and posting of the finished goods (production control).
- and improves processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation as required by Management.
- and analyzes inventory losses and inventory levels. Lead and manage the monthly excess and obsolete inventory review process and reporting of aged inventory.
- validity and accuracy of ERP through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production, and work order processing.
- in developing, documenting, and testing policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
- with internal and external auditors to provide requested information for the different audits.

**Education and Qualifications**
- 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience; cost accounting preferred
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions
- Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts
- Extremely strong Excel skills, especially advanced financial modeling and analytical techniques
- Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes
- Experience in manufacturing a plus

Pay: $6,000.00 - $7,000.00 per month
