Eaton's AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Sr EHS Engineer.
What you'll do: Primary Function: This position supports environmental, health and safety efforts at the site. Individual is accountable for supporting EHS activities at his/her assignment area, including maintaining EHS systems and processes such as monitoring and measurement systems, reporting and communication of EHS metrics, collection and organization of EHS action items, supporting EHS training initiatives, leading and supporting EHS teams, leading/supporting incident investigations, supporting security processes for C-TPAT/OEA certification, and supporting site internal assessment activities.
Essential Functions: Assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) and utilize MESH tools to drive improvements.Support risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.Support tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance.Support tracking and accomplishment of EHS goals for the site.Support and promote zero incident EHS culture throughout the site.Support EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.Work with EHS Manager and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations (Leyes, Reglamentos, Normas Oficiales Mexicanas) applicable to Site Operations.Support efforts for third-party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton's EHS program as world class (Industria Limpia, PASST).Provide support on using established EHS data processes such as MESH Prism to manage data.Support efforts to ensure and track that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.Support security processes for C-TPAT/OEA certification.Qualifications: Basic qualifications: Associate Degree or four (4) year degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent.3-5 Years of experience in the EHS Field.Ability to identify state and country EHS Legal Requirements.Bilingual Spanish/English.Ability to facilitate EHS teams.Ability to utilize company-wide system for reporting EHS data and information.Preferred Specialized Knowledge (not required to be qualified for position): Ability to integrate EHS with other functions.Ability to act as an agent of change.
