Job Description
Position summary:
Bose Automotive Systems Division is looking for an Engineer to design state-of-the-art premium car audio amplifiers and systems. This position is for an engineer who will be a part of a development team in Tijuana which designs automotive audio amplifiers.
- Develop amplifier architecture options with tradeoff assessments and lead technical engagements on new product proposals.
- Evaluate customer specifications and create responses for new audio amplifier projects
- Develop new features and circuits to add innovative new capability, decrease cost/size/weight or increase quality/reliability.
- Design and analyze circuits using simulation tools to produce well understood designs prior to building physical hardware.
- Lead the electrical design of new audio amplifier projects.
- Create designs that meet or beat target costs.
- Follow the development processes which include documenting requirements and designs, following and maintaining design guidelines, holding and documenting reviews, reporting test results, and creating debug and training guides.
- Verify via test that designs meet all electrical requirements and have sufficient design margin for high quality in harsh automotive environments.
- Achieve project milestones and deliverables on time and on budget.
- Lead activity of other electrical engineers.
- Work closely with EMC, firmware, mechanical and manufacturing engineers.
Experience:
- BS in electrical or electronic engineering
- At least 8 years of electrical design experience
- Detailed circuit design and analysis experience of uCs, DSPs, analog amplifiers, switching and linear voltage regulators, and serial communication protocols
- Experience taking at least 5 products through the complete process from initial design specification to production including EMC compliance testing
- Experience in small to medium sized working environments highly desired
- Must be fluent in both Spanish and English. Strong capability with English language (verbal and written) to allow effective communication directly with staff at R&D, suppliers and customers (highly technical discussions)
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Automotive experience with audio systems experience is a plus.
- Schematic capture tool proficiency,
- PCB layout design highly desired.
- Competency with circuit design/simulation tools such as PSpice, LTSpice,
- Skills with lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Audio Analyzers, Signal Generators, Programmable Power supplies.
Education and Language requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical with demonstrated excellence in their field.
- Must be fluent in both Spanish and English. Strong capability with English language (verbal and written) to allow effective communication directly with staff at R&D, suppliers and customers (highly technical discussions)
