Job DescriptionPrimary Function of Position: The Employee Relations Specialist's primary responsibility is to manage labor and industrial employee relations, monitoring compliance with the Official Mexican Norms as well as General Conditions of Work, Federal Labor Law, and other relative Regulations. This position is responsible for developing, interpreting, and recommending program goals and objectives, as well as policies, procedures, and courses of action to maintain a positive work environment.
Roles & Responsibilities: Foster and promote ER based on Intuitive's Culture and Values at all levels.Serve as a trusted ER advisor and partner with our business leaders, HRBP's, and functional corporate organizations under a matrix management.Act as the primary point of contact for all ER-related matters at the Intuitive Mexicali site.Manage relations with our law firms (Local and Corp) to respond to and resolve legal employee claims, disagreements, misunderstandings, or conduct business investigations.Support efforts to align our ER strategy from Corp to our business priorities and deliver solutions in Mexicali.Collaborate with people leaders and HRBP's to implement corrective and disciplinary actions, performance counseling, policy violations, and PIPs for employees with behavioral or performance issues and recommend appropriate documentation.Investigate ER issues, including escalated complaints, employee direct or hotline calls, and work environment incidents such as unfair business practices, hostile work environment claims, discrimination, harassment, and racism, using Intuitive methodology and processes.Prepare summary investigative reports recommending appropriate remedial action.Facilitate and apply interventions to resolve conflicts between employees due to disagreements, conflicts, or misunderstandings.Provide coaching and mentoring to people leaders to improve ER management processes, conflict resolutions, performance management programs, disciplinary and corrective actions, and policy interpretation.Respond to government agency inspections, charges, or notifications.Create and facilitate formal and informal training related to employee relations matters, including performance counseling, employment law, equal opportunity, and compliance initiatives.Collaborate with HRBP's on developing and reviewing performance management processes for involuntary separations or transfers requiring strategic risk management solutions and discipline methods where applicable, while applying Intuitive Culture and values.Ensure alignment between people management strategies and existing Intuitive values, policies, and compliance requirements, updating each as required.Collaborate with people leaders to analyze and identify work environment risks to improve employee experience.Proactively identify and analyze data to identify ER trends and patterns that will assist leadership with creating and maintaining a unique and compelling employee-focused culture to maximize employee retention and minimize legal exposure.Manage current and future Human Resources Policies that respond to and best meet the organization's people management and strategy needs.Identify ER gaps in leadership capabilities across departments within the business and develop action plans accordingly.Act as a legal representative for lawsuits, administrative acts, clarifications, and collections before dependencies such as STPS, IMSS, INFONAVIT, FONACOT, MIGRACION, SEMARNAT, and others.Conduct investigations related to violations of the Code of Conduct and Ethics of the Organization, presenting the results and action plans to the corporate legal department.Maintain a clear and detailed knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and labor legislation by building strong relationships with Industrial and Human Resources Associations as well as local universities.Partner effectively with other cross-functional teams such as Inclusion & Diversity and Legal & Employee Relations.
