Sr. Engineering Manager

**Responsibilities will include but are not limited to**:

- Provide technical leadership and direction for the sustaining engineering staff across a range of disciplines while navigating the product sustaining process to achieve timely results and support.
- Manage the legacy controls product portfolio for the segment to ensure uninterrupted production, with specific focus on component lifecycle and third-party approvals.
- Coordinate communication of progress and status to internal customer in conjunction with Program and Product Management partners.
- Hire, develop and retain multi-discipline technical talent including direct, contract and outside resources.
- Support the identification, documentation, and implementation of sustaining approaches, technologies, and innovation to provide product differentiation for the customer
- Ensure sustaining design and compliance to relevant standards and agency approvals (UL, CSA, etc.)
- Champion development of best practices and standard work for continuous improvement in sustaining engineering.

**Essential Knowledge & Skills**:

- BS Technical or Management degree from accredited university w/5+ years of experience in technical leadership role
- Product experience with embedded design and systems
- Ability to mentor technical talent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and provide trade-offs in design.
- Ability to successfully collaborate across the organization.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- HVAC / Refrigeration controls and electromechanical solutions
- Experience with third party certification testing (e.g. UL) or new product development in a regulated industry
- System or Sustaining engineering experience
- Previous experience in a product manufacturing
- Direct management of multi-discipline technical teams
- Project management experience

**TRAVEL**:

- Up to 10% travel - both domestic and international travel required
