While our name may not be familiar to consumers, our products are key components of foods offered by many of the world's best-known companies.Summary:This role is responsible for the maintenance of Suppliers/Raw Materials quality program and for conducting detailed Suppliers/Material Risk Assessment to ensure hazards are identified and mitigated.Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary group to execute Suppliers/Raw Material Approval Process within the required time frame.Develops expertise in Suppliers/Raw Material categories for effective review of Suppliers/Raw Material documentation for food safety risk and adherence to quality and approved Supplier program.Conducts and maintains detailed material risk assessment (MRA) based on established criteria for each ingredient, including packaging items, to identify and mitigate hazards to Griffith and customers.Collaborates with suppliers to establish meaningful raw material specifications to address MRA and comply with GFUS requirements, industry standards, and government regulations.Supports the plant to ensure food safety and quality-related concerns with supplier and raw material documentation are handled immediately to minimize impact on the plant.Acts as FSQS Project Manager for Co-manufacturing, GCI, and/or Health & Nutrition objectives as business needs develop.Reviews supplier audits based on various GFSI and non-GFSI standards to ensure minimum food safety and quality criteria are met and acceptable.Possesses Food Safety/Quality Systems knowledge to manage suppliers and raw material programs.Has knowledge of food industry processes and programs, ingredients, and food safety regulations.Utilizes FSQS Auditor and auditing techniques for suppliers and internal audits.Prepares audit reports for internal and external purposes.Familiar with GFSI standards.Leads the FSQS Suppliers and Raw Material programs, together with the Supplier team of North America.Leads special Food Safety Quality Improvement projects as identified through industry changes, regulatory changes, and/or specific customer requirements.Knowledge and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Food Science.Minimum of 3-5 years of Food Safety/Quality Systems or Food Product Development or Food Regulatory experience in a food environment.Knowledge of Food Safety regulations.Experience with FSQS Auditor and auditing techniques.Training in BRCGS standard (or other GFSI Standard).Ability to identify potential safety hazards and compliance issues.Fully Bilingual
