The Cost Accountant will be responsible for applying accounting principles to the month-end close process, preparing account reconciliations and reports, and addressing various inventory-related activities including special projects. The Cost Accountant will review cost expenditures, record data, and provide internal reporting to support the Operations teams.General ResponsibilitiesLeads close activities for the company to accurately report results within the closing cyclePrepare, reconcile, and report on relevant cost accounting close activitiesHandles journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliationsDevelop and maintain cost accounting system, documentation, records, and reportingSupport internal stakeholders to make effective business decisionsAnalyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costsReviews and documents costs for all external inventory, labor, and material purchasesLeads and completes internal cost auditsReview and document inventory and material purchasesAccurately record and update existing and new purchased materials and goodsCompile documentation on standard costs and company production costsEnsure compliance with applicable accounting guidelines, policies, and internal control proceduresCoordinate and execute physical inventories according to annual plansExperience / QualificationsA university degree required (i.E.
