Eaton's AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer.
**What you'll do**:
**Primary Function**:
Lead the execution of New Product Development and Transition projects, using the Project Management Tools and the standard transition process to ensure project goal alignment and deliverables on time, quality and cost.
This position is responsible for deploying Pro Launch methodologies & processes within the Business unit under his responsibility. Also, to provide training and Guidance on Pro-Launch tools & requirements to the production team leading Transitions.
Manage cross functional transition teams to ensure parts are transitioned successfully from Sending sites to Tijuana, to an established plan, and thorough all phases from initiation launch, STP or NPD, to hand-off.
This position will also monitor project portfolio performance within the Business unit or area under his responsibility. The position drives continuous improvement while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF). Directs the development and implementation of the Customer Requirements and the quality control programs
**Essential Functions**:
- Lead the execution of New Product Development and Transition projects, using the Project Management Tools and the standard transition process to ensure project goal alignment and deliverables on time, quality and cost.
- Deploy Pro Launch methodologies & processes within the Business unit under his responsibility.
- Monitor & control Capex, milestone attainment and financial performance in project under their responsibility.
- Create a detailed plan which identifies the critical path of the project and identifies risk and mitigations.
- Prioritizes tasks and manages assignments so team activities are balanced, and resources are used effectively.
- Identify project risks and development mitigation plans to ensure project goals remains on track.
- Report recurrent project status and escalate project risks to the Sr. Management.
- Provides leadership to team and becomes their 'Go To' person - informs and updates team as and when necessary, involves them in decision making process, delegates responsibility and inculcates accountability.
- Coordinate Project Portfolio prioritization to determinate timeframe, resources & funding required to support next year proposed projects as part of the site Strategic Planning.
- Coordinate PRO Launch OPA self-assessment to ensure internal project management tools and policies are being deployed and develop action plans to close gaps.
- Provide training and Guidance on Pro-Launch tools & requirements to the cross functional team leading the Transition.
**Qualifications**:
**Basic qualifications**:
- Experience in project management.
- Must be able to plan and provide input to PP cycle and maintain cost out and budgeting related to transitions and New Product Development.
- Engineering degree preferred
- English 85 - 95% (written and spoken)
- Strong analytical skills
- Computer Skills (MS-Project & MS Office)
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position desired
- Proactive and results driven
**Preferred Specialized Knowledge (not required to be qualified for position)**:
- Ability to manage multiple projects/activities.
- A thorough understanding of PRO Launch NPD and STP process.
- Previous Aerospace experience
- Understanding of problem-solving methods (Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis)
- Excellent communication skills to interact at all levels within and outside the Organization
