Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer (Stamping).
**What you'll do**:
**Primary Function**:
Lead manufacturing activities and give technical direction and assistance for new and existing products, including process design, facility layout, capital equipment, and tooling requirements manufacturing operations. The position drives continuous improvement while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF).
**Essential Functions**:
- Determines what equipment, materials, tooling, methods of manufacture and facilities are required to produce a particular product in a scheduled quantity and at the lowest cost consistent with quality specifications.
- Develops tooling layouts for stamping dies
- Troubleshoot stamping dies for deep draw type products
- Work directly with tool designers and manufacturing engineers to develop new and more efficient dies to replace aging tooling
- Conducts research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures.
- Prepares technical reports as result of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations
- Develops and analyzed statistical data and product/process performance to recommend and implement improvements in targeted areas (FPY from NDT)
- Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Develops, implements, and audits inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications
- Develops standardized work instruction, setup procedures and supporting documentation.
- Validate and define programs routines and tool & die changeover to obtain first run work piece within specified dimensional tolerances
- Defines and Coordinates pre-stage of all necessary items for die change
- Troubleshoots equipment failures and problems
- Monitors press for proper operation and reports any malfunctions or problems to maintenance
- Provide continuous training for stamping operators
**Qualifications**:
**Basic qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree on Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on a similar position.
- Bilingual English/ Spanish
- Good communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills
- Working knowledge of current manufacturing techniques - tooling, metal stamping, assembly, and testing
- Working knowledge of production and quality control procedures used in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical, time management and analysis skills
- GD&T / Reads blueprints
- Tool design and process development
- Experience in CAD programs
- Desired Experience in forming simulation software
- Must be able to plan and provide input and maintain cost out and budgeting related to transitions and New Product Development
**Preferred Specialized Knowledge (not required to be qualified for position)**:
- Materials engineering background (desired)
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certified (desired)
- Understanding of problem-solving methods (Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis) a plus.

- Excellent communication skills to interact at all levels within and outside the Organization
