The SPS Global Material Master (MM) Leader will provide management oversight and operational execution of the central Material Master team as a cross-functional thought leader in Data Management and Governance for the SPS.
The Global MM Data Leader is responsible for driving the data management strategy providing overall direction to the MM Data Teams to improve operating effectiveness and process standardization of the program globally.
This role will be responsible for developing controls and standards for daily MM operations, as well as establishing the process to engage with and support the ERP and PLM deployments, divestitures and acquisitions.
Additionally, the Global Material Master Data Leader will be closely aligned with the Enterprise Information Management Leaders and support the continued maturity of Material Master data from their currently maturity levels through Level 5.
This role will report directly to EIM Leader and will focus on utilizing data quality tools and standards for governance and measurement and communicate the effectiveness at a senior and executive level.
S/he will work closely with Data Leads, Business Functions, IT, Operations, Data Owners and Data Stewards across the global enterprise for Material Master data.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and deploy a global Material Master MOS
- Work cross-functionally to drive the strategic direction for data governance, provide material master data quality and data governance capabilities throughout the end-to-end lifecycle of Material Master
- Drive common process, standards, policies, controls, audits, metrics, governance, and organization capabilities across the SPS SBG
- Drive improvements and efficiencies in the data processes, manage data projects, create and update data policies and procedures
- Manage rollout of material data quality project, including identification of critical data elements and rules definitions, and material data quality policies.
- Ensure the teams are in compliance with data quality and master data standards throughout its lifecycle
- Execute strategies, tools, and reporting processes to track key performance measures & create dashboards to monitor, measure and present material master data metrics & maturity standards
- Drive initiatives to progress Material Master through advanced levels of data maturity with a roadmap for Maturity Level 3 and beyond
- Improve operating effectiveness and administrative costs through cycle time reduction and improvement to data quality
**YOU MUST HAVE**
- BA/BS Degree
- 8+ years of Material Master management, running a MM operations capability
- Previous leadership experience of a global team
- Strong knowledge of master data management, data governance, and tools
- Ability to interface with and influence across many organizational levels, up to executives
- Strong management and organizational skills
