**OVERVIEW**:
This Sr. Material Specialist is responsible for assisting in the Distribution Center activities such as inventory transactions, order and special product coordination as well as supporting other groups like Customer Service and Manufacturing. This individual will be working closely with Warehouse Supervisor to prioritize sales orders, shipments and generate reports to support all key indicators needed in the Distribution Center.
**Position Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for coordinating priorities by distributing workable sales orders to the warehouse in a timely manner by providing real time communication to all the parties involve avoiding any shipping delays.
- Responsible for coordinating special product requirements and allocation need with customer service and manufacturing groups.
- Responsible for maintaining the DC on-time shipment performance through various performance reports to support the DC KPIs.
- Responsible of tracking and reporting shipments and transportation and/or warehouse issues to senior management.
- Performs otherdistribution duties as assigned.
- Responsible for working in conjunction with transportation team to improve carrier's performance and relationship to provide customer service score card.
- Coordinate and oversee quality and engineering hold efforts involving the Distribution Centers
- Participates as required on re-work projects and other administrative functions, as directed in the facility.
- Research cause of customer order shipment/delivery issues that arise when needed.
- Train new users, conduct continuous learning sessions with existing distribution/ logistics planning practitioners
- This position provides administrative clerical support
- Assists with electronic order entry and processing (sales order, shipping documents, invoicing) utilizing PeopleSoft (ERP) software
- Support coordination between manufacturing, DC and customer.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- 5+ years of experience
- Working knowledge of distribution, logistics, and networking standards.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service-oriented skills, with the ability to build credible relationships with multiple functions.
- Software familiarity with MS Office suite, PeopleSoft, WMS or any similar systems
- Experience supporting a Distribution Center running the Manhattan Associates WMS platforms
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience supporting a Distribution Center running the Manhattan Associates WMS platforms
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated team skill
- Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical users
**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- 2+ years of experience with PeopleSoft Supply Chain modules and/or worked in warehouse/distribution
- WMS or Manhattan ERP-Related training or certification desired
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
