Provide technical support and design guidance to the global mechanical engineering team during the development process. Drive implementation of new FEA techniques, processes, and train engineers on these methodologies.Your TeamThis position has no direct reports but mentoring and training of basic CAE techniques, methodology and processes may be required to the engineering development team members.What You Will DoAnalyze structural integrity of the designs in static and dynamic environments (vibrations, shock, random analysis, etc.) to ensure the designs meet customers specifications.Prepare CAD models for reliable meshing.Perform Modal, Harmonic Response, Random Vibration, Transient and Fatigue analyses.Assist mechanical engineers on running FEA analysis on their own 3D CAD models.Ensure product meets customer and internal requirements, specifications and cost targets.Prepare technical reports and presentations per customer requirements, and for Harman management reviews, peers as necessary.Provide pre-program support with quick turn designs/samples and technical documentation as required.Explain FEA analysis results to mechanical engineers along with participating in design reviews with customers and engineering peers.Assist in the realization of customer requirements and specifications (RFC, RFI, and RFQ), product test plans, and production processes as needed to ensure the development and manufacture of quality products.Provide technical support for the industrialization of functional items in an international environment.Assist in the product conformance testing for environmental performance to automotive and customer requirements.Help educate colleagues on more cost/energy efficient solutions that meet project timeline requirements & budget.What You NeedBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar.4+ years of prior experience in ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar simulation experience.Fundamentals in mechanics of materials, physics and vibrations.Master use and hands-on experience with CAD design tools – CATIA preferred
