Sr. Mechanical Engineer

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer supports new product development and product sustaining tasks. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer acts as a technical resource between internal groups, such as marketing, product management, application engineering, customer technical support, and manufacturing. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer provides direct daily support to engineering groups by focusing on 3D Modeling, systems-entry, coaching less experienced Mechanical Engineers and other mechanical-related tasks.RESPONSIBILITIESProvides technical support to internal Vertiv functions - marketing, sales, application engineering, customer technical support and service, and manufacturing.Understands the products, suggesting ideas and improvements back to group.Assists with creation, reviewing, and systems-entry of new product specifications, ECNs, tests, procedures, user manuals, submittal drawings, and sales literature.Creates/modifies mechanical drawings/parts in CAD systems, such as CREO.Assists with troubleshooting of escalated or re-occurring field issues.Performs lab testing of products.Works closely with technicians and junior engineers, providing technical support and guidance.QUALIFICATIONS5 - 7 years of engineering product development with experience of prototyping.Knowledge of mechanical concepts, products, safety, and test-methods.Ability to follow, create, and organize testing and instructional procedures.Data-entry systems familiarity & BOM Creation Experience - Oracle, Agile, etc.Mechanical CAD tools experience.Intermediate MBD (Model Based Definition) experience preferred.CREO preferred.Troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and logically.Good planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.Ability to multitask and operate in cross-functional Global Development Teams.Ability to work independently and as part of a Team.Fluency in English.Basic electrical and thermal experience a plus.#J-18808-Ljbffr
