TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.**What your background should look like**:**Responsibilities**:- Develops ideas, concepts, and prototypes for new and innovative packaging for new products as well as for existing products- Provide pertinent information for package development, such as bill of materials, part numbers, specifications, weight, and dimensions to different involved areas: procurement, quality, finance, new products, manufacturing, warehouse, and shipping.- Develop complete and detailed packaging specifications and procedures for new and existing products or when this is required by the activities of the sub-vertical.- Validate packaging concepts and samples assuring those meet the specifications and requirements. If required, approve, or reject mentioned developments either graphic or structural.- Assure proper implementation of all packaging related activities at plant level and suppliers working closely with Industrial Engineering, Product Engineering, Project Management, Program Managers, Quality and Procurement teams.- Advance all package projects according to corporative criteria to meet department goals- Analyze packaging improvement resulting in cost improvements and/or enhanced consumer experience in terms of feasibility and impact.- Implement improvement projects at plant, sub-vertical or supplier.- Update P-Bom's in SAP per stablished packaging material.- Support sub-vertical process development as required.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Packaging Engineering- At least 5 years in manufacturing industry or with similar responsibilities- Problem solving and decision-making skills are necessary- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team- Must have good communication skills, orally and in writing- Must be able to demonstrate project management skills and experience, project management certification a plus**Competencies**:- Values: Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, Innovation
