TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control.
They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface.
They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes.
They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversees development, design and qualification of tooling, equipment, and processes to meet quality and production standards
- Responsible for the function that supports the development of new manufacturing process and technologies to the TE Core Processes such as Molding, Stamping, Plating, Machining, and all related processes of Assembly & Automation.
- Defines technology roadmaps and resource plan to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and control getting in agreement with the functional leaders about right competency at the right locations
- Establishes standards to production platforms and optimal capital/investment creating mechanisms to capture action that improves product cost
- Drive for excellence in manufacturing technologies and methods leading the transformation of process to achieve manufacturing Star Level 5 site goals
- Support Product Development activity in the optimization of design for manufacturability managing the team to accomplish Process FMEA
- Acts as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface
- Initiates and implements actions of Kaizen projects to continuously improve quality, timing, and cost.
- Maintains and adheres to all appropriate safety specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.
Assures proper documentation are storage within TE software systems (DM.TEC, TLM, SAP)
- Discuss with the manufacturing engineering leaders on site about needed competencies to support new technologies
- Drives and develops the talent pipeline through apprentice program and proper skill
- Drive decision matrix and alignment between functions to perform a Make vs Buy analysis
- Innovates through ideation and execution of process development aligned with the global engineering roadmaps
- Manage capital projects, budget, and department cost
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's in science Degree of Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronic/Materials).
MBA will be considered a differentiation
- **10+ yrs of experience** in Product & Process Engineering and Manufacturing Operations in the Automotive Business
- **5+ yrs of experience** in leadership roles
- Technical background & deep knowledge on the following processes**:Molding, Stamping and Assembly Automation**:
- Fluent in **English**, both written and spoken.
Other languages are a plus
- Good knowledge of business and cost models, strategy and technology roadmap ideation
- Good understanding of statistical and problem-solving tools
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with direct reports, peers, executives and customers
- Demonstrate customer focus ability and continuous improvement mind set
- Knowledge about automotive standards **(APQP, IATF 16949)**:
- Strong experience in working with multicultural and cross functional groups
- Experience with work planning and tracking
