Job OverviewSenior Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for the management of production and non-production databases; database maintenance activities; troubleshooting database-related issues; monitoring of database capacity and performance; installation, administration, and configuration of database server/instances/databases; Setup and management data replication; Support release/code deployment activities; perform query tuning and optimizationEssential FunctionsConduct the following for Oracle on Solaris and Linux and other related products as applicable and necessaryInstall/Configure/Setup/Administer and Maintain production and non-production environmentsSetup High-Availability and Disaster RecoveryPlan, configure, maintain and test high availability and disaster recoveryConfigure and maintain DB replicas for either oracle (data guard, golden gate)Identify and get necessary alerts set up to monitor database events/situations/activitiesCreate Users and assign/manage permissions based on the level of access the user would need; ensure robust and full proof security of assetsResolve database integrity, performance, blocking, connectivity, and replication issues.Detect and resolve database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other contention issues.Perform and manage Database backup/recovery/restore and capacity monitoringRefresh and cloning of production databases into test environmentsMaintain databases ? Statistics, Indexes, fragmentationConduct Performance tuning and optimization (Stored procedures, Views, Functions, Queries,database etc.) using Oracle Enterprise Manager Advanced, AWR, DMVsImplement operational automation using scripts.Coordinate removal and/or archiving of data that is no longer required to be available in theproduction databases.Design and create databases to support development initiativesSupport release/code deployment activitiesDevelop and maintain SunOS/Solaris/Linux Shell ScriptsDevelop and maintain and package, materialized viewsProvide 24x7 support as necessaryMentor junior/new DBA team membersManage a team of DBAs if necessaryQualificationsBachelor's DegreeExpertise with Oracle version 10.X to latest, Oracle Enterprise Manager AdvancedExpertise in SunOS/Solaris/Linux RedHatAdvanced PL/SQL Programming and troubleshooting skillsAdvanced Expertise in RMAN and ASM
